Partners
Seneca Meadows has had the honor of partnering with a number of prestigious local and national organizations to make a difference in our community and our world. We hold these partners in the highest regard for their contributions to the environment and local economic development, and we encourage you to take a moment to read of their accomplishments.
Audubon New York
With a distinguished record for the successful restoration and preservation of natural ecosystems, Audubon was the ideal choice for a permanent steward for the Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve. Once the Seneca Meadows Landfill is no longer in operation, Audubon will assume the care and management of the preserve, ensuring that this beautiful habitat retains its ecological vitality for generations to come.
Through the Montezuma Audubon Center, Audubon is also an educational partner with Seneca Meadows, providing ecologically focused family and children’s programming for the Seneca Meadows Environmental Education Center.
Seneca County Industrial Development Agency
Established in 1973 by an act of the New York State Legislature, the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency is a public benefit corporation with the primary purpose of promoting private sector commercial and industrial development, and advancing the job opportunities and economic welfare of the people of Seneca County. In the past 25 years, the IDA has helped bring more than 5,000 new jobs to Seneca County, and has helped to recruit and expand more than 100 companies.
The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency is an invaluable partner to Seneca Meadows in the pursuit of industrial users for our Renewable Resource Park, as well as potential buyers for methane gas. Methane, a byproduct of waste decomposition, is a valuable commodity with the potential to attract new industry and retain existing industry with lower fuel prices. The IDA has also provided advantageous financing for our facility.
Trout Unlimited
Trout Unlimited is a national organization with more than 150,000 volunteers whose mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds, and whose vision is to ensure that robust populations of native and wild coldwater fish once again thrive within their North American range.
The Finger Lakes chapter of Trout Unlimited actively pursues TU’s mission in our local area. Their monthly meetings are held at the Seneca Meadows Environmental Education Center.
Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
The mission of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce is to act as a dynamic, proactive business voice providing information, initiative, connectivity and leadership to Seneca County Businesses. The Chamber is a great resource for Seneca Meadows for the development of relationships with local businesses and in the promotion of our environmental endeavors.
