Vernal Equinox and Bird Walk

Vernal Equinox and Bird Walk on Friday March 20 at 4:00 PM. Meet at the Seneca Meadows Education Center

Please join us for a late afternoon walk to see our Bald Eagles, hear and see American Woodcocks (and possibly Wilson’s Snipe), and celebrate the first day of Spring, 2026. We are meeting by 3:45 PM at the Seneca Meadows Education Center (1977 NYS Route 414 in Waterloo, NY 13165). We will have some light snacks and hot chocolate, listen to 2 very brief talks on seasons and the American Woodcock, then drive to the Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve (1712 Black Brook Road in Seneca Falls, 13148). We will walk about 2 and a half miles (round trip). We will have binoculars to loan and my spotting scope. As it is early spring and weather can be variable, please dress appropriately. If it has been rainy close to the day of the event, please bring waterproof boots.

This is a free event, and please register at the link VEBW32026 | Montezuma Audubon Center by March 17, 2026.

This event is for all individuals, families (with or without children), groups, and those folks from underserved communities. For questions or more information, please email to fred.leff@audubon.org or call (315) 539-5089 and leave a detailed message.
