The Vernal Equinox
Please join us at the Seneca Meadows Education Center to celebrate the first day of spring. This is a free event, and all individuals, families, groups, and under-represented communities are welcome. We will have a brief talk about the seasons, activities, pizza, and an optional drive to the Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve to observe the American Woodcock, which is entering breeding season in early spring. Only if you want to observe the nocturnal birds, we will have binoculars available to borrow. Also, if you plan on the optional part, please bring appropriate clothing as the weather forecast dictates. We won’t have to walk too far, but boots are recommended. If you have flashlights, please bring them as well. We should finish by about 8:00 PM. For more information or if you have any questions, please call (315) 539-5089 and leave a detailed message and/or email to fred.leff@audubon.org
