Education Center
The Seneca Meadows Environmental Education Center is changing the face of environmental programming in our community, and we think you’ll find our brand of ecological education a great way to spend your time. We have programs such as Moth Blacklighting, Bird Banding, and Seed Collection.
Teachers and students from K – 12 will find ample opportunities in environmental science including food webs, water testing, pollinators, and bird migration patterns. All programs are aligned with the NYS Next Generation Science Standards.
The Education Center building is gold level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and houses a laboratory, exhibit room, and office space. Environmental features include regionally harvested timber framing, a geothermal heating and cooling system, daylighting controls, and many other earth friendly components.
