  • Owl Pellet Pandemonium

    Okay Mom, it may sound a little gross, but kids love dissecting owl pellets! What is an owl pellet, you ask? It’s a small packet of things that the owl cannot digest, and he, um, well, regurgitates. The things you find in there are pretty awesome, and they tell us a lot about an owl’s life. So, can the kids come? Please??? We promise we won’t make you look at anything yucky!

  • Mulch Day

That’s why so many homeowners come out for the one-day Mulch Give-away at the Seneca Meadows Landfill. You get two scoops of hardwood mulch. We load it for you. And it’s free! So, boost your landscaping budget at the Seneca Meadows Landfill’s one-day Mulch Give-away. Saturday, May 18th, 7 to 11 am.

    (Seneca County residents only. Must bring i.d. Mulch is limited to two scoops per homeowner, and will be loaded into your pick-up truck, trailer or containers.)

  • Nature Photo Contest

    Monday, July 1st, 2013

    Location: Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve

    You take awesome pictures at the Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve and we want to see them! From July 1 - August 1, 2013 Seneca Meadows is sponsoring an amateur, nature photo contest for adults. All photos must be taken at the Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve and submitted on a disk or USB flash drive to Seneca Meadows, 1786 Salcman Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 by August 1, 2013. A cash prize of $100 will be awarded to the first place judged photo, as well as the photo that receives the popular vote. Submissions will be judged by a team of professional photographers, and by the public via Facebook. (Look for Seneca Meadows Education Center on Facebook). First, second and third place judged photos will be displayed at the Seneca Meadows Education Center during our Open House on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

  • 5K Race for Hunger

    Runners love our trail race at the Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve in Seneca Falls! It’s a beautiful run for an awesome cause! All proceeds benefit the Seneca County House of Concern. Check out our 5K Race page to register!

  • Bring Your Kid to the Course

    Location: Executive Links Golf Course

    The family who golfs together… Okay, so nothing rhymes with golf, but golfing with your kids is much fun, and we would love for you to join us at Executive Links for our first ever golf tournament to support Trevor’s Gift and the Seneca Falls Backpack Program! Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 teams, the longest drive (child and adult), and closest to the pin. Top raffle prize is a golf club valued at $300! Ice cream will be served on the course and a pizza party will follow the event. (This event is sponsored by Seneca Meadows, the New York Chiropractic College, and the Executive Links Golf Course.)     We have some surprises for you at this year’s Seneca Meadows Landfill Open House! In addition to tours of our facilities, great entertainment, and a fantastic barbeque, this year, you can also hop on a shuttle to our Education Center to check out our brand new exhibits! We'll also have an amazing photo gallery there, featuring the winners of our Nature Photo Contest! Come see all there is to see! (No registration.)
